RICHMOND, Va. - The Flying Squirrels will open a promotion-packed four-game homestand at The Diamond against the Trenton Thunder beginning Friday, May 25th. The club willcelebrate Memorial Day weekend with a bang - literally - including a human cannonball launch and a Memorial Day Fireworks Extravaganza. Kids 14 and under can take advantage of two giveaways during the series.

Friday, May 25 vs. Trenton

Gates Open: 5:30 PM First Pitch: 6:35 PM

The home stand kicks off with a unique giveaway item. The first 2,000 kids ages 14 and under will receive a Parker The Rally Pig Planter Pet (similar to a Chia Pet) courtesy of Cellular Sales of Virginia and 102.1 The X. Kids will get the chance to run the bases following the game courtesy of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. Pre-game live music will be performed by Meadow Street Band.

Fans attending game two of the Flying Squirrels-Thunder series will get the chance to see something truly spectacular: a human cannonball launch. Watch death-defying act as the cannonball hurtles across the Virginia sky presented by 96.5 KLR immediately following the ballgame. Kids will run the bases after the game courtesy of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. Fans will be entertained with pre-game music from Nat King Kong.

The Kroger Squirrels Tails Kids Club giveaway series continues with a jersey giveaway. The first 2,000 kids ages 14 and under will receive a Flying Squirrels jersey presented by Tyson ® Any'Tizer's ® Snacks. Additionally, fans can play catch on the field from 1:15 PM to 1:35 PM courtesy of Nesquik and Radio Disney AM 1290. Kids will get the opportunity to run the bases following the game compliments of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. Trongone Band sets the mood with live pre-game music.

Celebrate Memorial Day at The Diamond with two timeless American traditions, baseball and fireworks. The Flying Squirrels close out the home stand with a post-game fireworks extravaganza courtesy of Americool Heating and Cooling and Q 94. It's also McDonald's Monday and all fans that bring a receipt from McDonald's can purchase two tickets for the price of one. Uncle Drew and the Powhite Boys will provide live pre-game music.

Fans can test their aim and attempt to win a number of prizes with Launch-A-Ball following each game of the series.
