Fans who have already downloaded the "Flying Squirrels App" can vote by opening the app, choosing the "Nutzy needs your help in naming a new friend" article link and submitting their vote. The Application is available to download from the app store for free for fans that do not have it yet.

" Although Nutzy has many friends in the community, we thought he could use a buddy at the ballpark every night too." said Flying Squirrels Director of Community Relations and Promotions Christina Shisler. "We chose a very fun loving acorn as Nutzy's sidekick, and are looking forward to incorporating his antics into the festivities of each game."

The Flying Squirrels' new Acorn Mascot will be unveiled Thursday, February 24th at 2:00 PM at the Empire Theater at Theater IV on Broad Street. The unveiling is free and open to the public. Mini-Plan and Season Ticket packages for the 2011 season are currently available and can be purchased by calling the Flying Squirrels at (804) 359-FUNN (3866) or by visiting the Flying Squirrels Ticket Office at The Diamond.
